Jurong Health Connect

Jurong Health Connect is a significant community health project that commenced in Jurong, a region in Singapore with over half a million residents. The project was launched on 3 July 2004 and was spearheaded by the then Acting Minister of Health, Mr. Khaw Boon Wan. Its primary objective is to establish a patient-centric, seamless, and easily accessible healthcare network for the residents of Jurong. The success of the pilot program is intended to serve as a model for replication in other parts of Singapore. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance healthcare services and promote the well-being of the community in the region.

The project is closely linked to the development of the JurongHealth Campus, which includes the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and the Jurong Community Hospital. These healthcare facilities are integral to the implementation of the Jurong Health Connect project, aiming to provide integrated and comprehensive care to the residents of Jurong. The Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, in particular, has achieved significant milestones in its use of healthcare technology, such as obtaining the HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 certification for its electronic medical records system.

Furthermore, the JurongHealth Fund, established in 2011, plays a vital role in supporting the medical and healthcare initiatives associated with the JurongHealth Campus. As a registered charity, it is dedicated to promoting medical and health-related causes, contributing to the advancement of healthcare services in the region.

In summary, Jurong Health Connect is a multifaceted initiative that encompasses the development of a patient-centered healthcare network, the establishment of state-of-the-art healthcare facilities, and the support of medical and health-related causes through the JurongHealth Fund. This comprehensive approach underscores the commitment to enhancing healthcare services and promoting well-being in the Jurong region.
